Rebecca Lee Ediger (born September 13, 1952) was a former Deputy Assistant Director/Administration, Office of Human Resources and Training, United States Secret Service, United States Department of Homeland Security. Agent Ediger retired after 23 years of service in 2006.^[1]
Ms Ediger was born in Newton, Kansas. A native of Peabody, Kansas and graduate of Peabody-Burns High School in 1970, Ms. Ediger graduated from the Wichita State University Physicians Assistant program in 1976 and received her Bachelor of Health Science degree from Wichita State in 1983.^[2]
Ms Ediger was promoted to agent in charge of the Presidential Protective Division of the United States Secret Service on January 8, 2001. She was presented the Special Award for Distinguished Service to the Executive Office of the President in 2001, the only time this honor has been bestowed upon a U.S. Sercret Service employee.^[3]
Ms Ediger served as a consultant for the Clint Eastwood film In the Line of Fire (1993). She has an acting credit in In the Line of Fire: The Ultimate Sacrifice, a making-of featurette that was included on the Special Edition DVD for the film.^[4]

"The Secret Service has decided to remove four of its most senior officials while a fifth has decided to retire, the biggest management shake-up at the troubled agency since its director resigned in October after a string of security lapses, according to people familiar with internal discussions...The four assistant directors who were told to leave are: Dale Pupillo, who oversees protective operations; Paul Morrissey, who oversees the agency’s investigative mission; Jane Murphy, who leads the agency’s governmental and public affairs; and Mark Copanzzi, who oversees technology and the tools for mission support.

The retiring assistant director, Vic Erevia, who had been promoted in 2013 to be assistant director for protection after serving as head of Obama’s detail and then named assistant director for training in 2014, announced that he would retire this year in the wake of the panel’s findings"
